Amazon announces $4 billion investment in Claude developer Anthropic
Amazon announced that it will invest $4 billion in Claude parent company Anthropic. As part of the deal, Amazon's employees and cloud customers will have early access to Anthropic's technology, which they can integrate into their own businesses.
AWS will become Anthropic's primary cloud provider for mission-critical workloads, providing our team with access to leading computing infrastructure in the form of AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips that will complement existing model training and deployment solutions. We will combine our respective expertise to jointly develop future Trainium and Inferentia technologies.
As part of the investment, Amazon will take a minority stake in Anthropic, and Anthropic's corporate governance structure will remain unchanged.
