OpenAI: ChatGPT service is periodically interrupted due to DDoS attacks
According to news on November 9, OpenAI updated its official website on the evening of the 8th Pacific time, stating that it is dealing with periodic interruptions caused by abnormal traffic reflecting DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks. This is the first time OpenAI has disclosed the potential cause of the glitches that plagued ChatGPT this week. DDoS attacks are designed to overload a network or server with fake traffic and crash it.
Two hours ago, OpenAI issued a document stating that ChatGPT and API will still experience periodic interruptions. Earlier that day, OpenAI's ChatGPT and API services experienced severe outages, causing services for users and developers to be unable to be used normally.
